The Green Guild Biodiesel Coop operates the only high blend biodiesel fueling station in the Washington DC Metro Area.  The BioStation, which is located at the University of Maryland’s Center for Educational Partnership in Riverdale, Maryland is open to coop members everyday.

The BioStation, which was constructed in Spring 2009 and funded through grassroots member investment, is operated like a regular gas station, with a pump and fuel meter.  We sell only ASTM certified locally produced B99 biodiesel fuel at the BioStation.  We take fuel quality very seriously, all of our biodiesel goes through post-production double filtration and we are proud to say that we have had no fuel quality problems in over a year of distributing biodiesel.

Inside the BioStation, members can fill up their tanks directly or take home 5 gallon tanks for road trips or extra capacity.  We are preparing to launch a fully automated credit card interface in Summer 2009 to increased accessibility and convenience.

The BioStation is also a demonstration site for renewable energy, as an off-the-grid site, all of the power for our pumps and lights is generated on site by our solar and wind power demonstrations.
